Precept Ministries Scotland was registered as a Scottish charity in December 2007. Since then God has been opening doors for people in our nation to 'discover truth for themselves' using the Inductive Bible Study method, and our small office in Rosyth, Fife, is now supporting a growing number of Bible study groups across Scotland.
The heart of the ministry is to serve the local church by equipping, enabling and encouraging people to know God and be transformed into the likeness of Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit, by the study of His word. We have simple but highly effective tools to help people do this as inductive Bible study is 'For Everybody, Everywhere, Anytime, Anyplace, Any Language & Any Age'. We are excited about what God is doing in Scotland and we love to 'go where the Lord is opening the doors'. Precept Ministries Scotland offers support to and training for individuals, groups and churches across the Christian denominations. Prayer is vital to the running of the ministry, and we are blessed to have a group of dedicated prayer warriors who regularly intercede for the ministry.
We have very close links with the national Precept Ministries offices in England & Wales, and in Northern Ireland.
Ian and Anna Bartholomew were appointed National Coordinators of Precept Ministries Scotland in March 2007, following Ian's retirement from the Royal Navy in 2006. Married in 1981, they have 3 grown-up children and live in Rosyth.
A full-colour double-sided 'glossy' leaflet (A4 size when unfolded) has been prepared which explains the basics of inductive Bible study, and summarises the Bible study resources & training courses that are available from Precept Ministries Scotland. Precept and the Word of God
Precept Ministries makes your journey through the Bible one of real discovery and adventure. After all, it is the Word of God. Described as "God-breathed" in 2 Timothy 3:16, it is unique and speaks to us individually in every situation today. From studying God's word we can begin to discover God's precepts, His plan for each of us. The Psalmist says in Psalm 19:7-9 that the Word of God "revives the soul, makes wise the simple, gives joy to the heart and light to the eyes". It also gives us the ability to overcome evil (1 John 2:14), and is even described as a sword in Ephesians 6:17. So no matter whether you're just beginning to study His word or are seeking a fresh revelation of God, please join us as together we embark on this journey of discovery.

Precept Ministries International (PMI) was founded over 35 years ago in Chattanooga, Tennessee, by Jack and Kay Arthur. Chattanooga remains the international 'home' of Precept Ministries and, with its dedicated headquarters staff, extensive office and training facilities, warehouse for the storage and despatch of Precept study resources, book store, and state-of-the-art television and radio studios, it is well placed to serve the ever increasing numbers of people world-wide who want to go deeper into the Word of God. Inductive Bible Study is now taught by Precept in 150 or so countries around the world, and Precept study materials have been translated into 70 languages, including Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, even Hebrew - wherever people have a hunger for the Word of God.
