Introductory message from Kay: "Fellow believer, do you know who Jeremiah was? Do you have any idea what obstacles this prophet faced in a nation about to be swept away by God’s righteous judgment? And what his spiritual-life experiences can mean for your life? If not, you’re in for quite an adventure. You see, Israel’s spiritual condition back then was much like our nation’s is today. Prophet, priest, and king had all turned away from the Living God. They abandoned the faith of their father Abraham and the Law of Moses. They broke God’s covenant and went 'whoring' after other gods. As Jeremiah opens up we see two signal events: God’s call of Jeremiah and Israel at the crossroads of life and death. Babylon’s horses and riders are on the way! I know you realise how 'real' this situation is today and so how applicable this book is going to be for you. God knew how widespread and tough the opposition was and so He promised to make Jeremiah 'a fortified city and as a pillar of iron and as walls of bronze against the whole land...the kings of Judah...its princes...its priests and...the people' (1:18). And He promised too (I love this one!) 'They will fight against you, but they will not overcome you, for I am with you to deliver you' (v. 19). We’re not only outnumbered today, beloved; we’re also outranked. Spiritual wickedness in the heavenlies always descends to earth but it has lately settled on some of our nation’s highest leaders who defy the Lord and defile His holy covenants of life and marriage. God will not tolerate this for long! We’re weakening against strong nations. I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to share life-changing precepts with you. Among other things you’re going to get a whole new perspective on perseverance, a vision of what you can be in the Lord when the going gets really tough!"

Introductory message from Kay: "Beloved, the ball’s in our court either our nation lives for God’s Glory, or that Glory will depart as it did in Israel! It already shows signs of waning in our country. We’ve lost our fear of God as we’ve forgotten Him and distorted His Word. We no longer know Him as He really is, according to the truth He recorded for us. We’ve exchanged His glory for things that don’t profit, truth for lies. We’ve become a nation that fears and worships man. But the Creator-Redeemer does not share the glory that belongs only to Him. And when God’s glory departs, when His sovereign hand of protection is removed, we’re open to war and captivity from without and anarchy within. No empire in history has ever survived this loss the very seam of civilised society rips apart when truth, right, and good leave together! God’s chosen nation itself was thrust into captivity; first the Assyrians captured and removed Israel (the people of the Northern kingdom), then the Babylonians did the same to Judah (the people of the Southern Kingdom). Judah was held hostage in a foreign nation for 70 years! Long before these transplantings, God’s prophets were warning that they would happen. What can we do to stop the epitaph 'Ichabod' (literally 'no glory') from being written on our personal and national headstones? Much! We need to return to God’s glory and live in it! God commanded us to glorify Him in our bodies, which belong to Him because He purchased them with the blood of His Son. The world needs to see the difference Jesus Christ makes in those who believe this Gospel. The way we live reflects what we believe. If you truly believe, you’ll seek to live a life pleasing to God by walking in His Spirit. This is how we win the battle over the flesh and radiate the image of Christ, the glory of God, to the world. When that happens, people, institutions, and whole nations are saved. They return to God’s glory by turning to Christ. It’s not an easy life. The life Jesus lived and the path He took were tough a life of suffering and a path of persecution. But with His victorious example and God’s Spirit we can win each battle and ultimately the war. Are you ready for this life? Are you prepared to live a life that glorifies God alone a life that can influence and even save our great nation? May the Lord empower you this moment to say 'Yes!' with your whole heart, soul, mind, and strength. Living For God’s Glory is designed to help you keep this commitment!
