Seminars & Workshops offered by Precept in Scotland
In March & April 2009, we teamed up with the Lent group at Mains Church of Scotland, Dundee, to study Being a Disciple: Counting the Real Cost
Precept Ministries is here for one purpose - to help people go deeper into God’s Word, in order to discover Truth for themselves. So we don’t just provide books and Bible study aids, we aim to help you in every way we can to get the most out of your time studying the Scriptures. To achieve this we offer a variety of formal workshops (for which there is a small charge, typically £10-15 per head for a one-day course, including all study materials and light refreshments) and introductory seminars (which are provided free of charge!) to suit your particular needs, whether as an individual, for a group or for your church.
Introductory Seminars
Studying the scriptures inductively is nothing new – Tyndale used it in translating the first Bible to be printed in English in the 16th Century. But the way Precept applies the method is unique. This is why we offer free seminars to introduce groups and churches to the Inductive Bible Study method, demonstrating just how simple and effective it is to use. If you would like to host an introductory seminar in your home or at your church (with the endorsement of your church leadership), we are keen to hear from you! Many of us desire to go deeper into God’s Word, and Precept Ministries has developed a range of formal workshops that vary in duration depending on the subject matter. During these workshops you’ll also become more comfortable and skilled in the use of Inductive Bible Study tools and techniques. Finally, please note that, if you wish to lead a study group using Precept Upon Precept Bible Studies, we ask you first to attend the Basics of Precept Upon Precept training workshop, which will provide a wealth of highly relevant information and formally qualify you as a Precept Leader. We will do our very best to help you receive this training - and maybe you can help us to help you, by hosting this course in your home church?!
Workshops at Precept Ministries International (in the USA!)
On the Chattanooga Choo-Choo! - April 2011
In 2011 the very first group of Scottish 'Precepters' attended an intensive week of training at the headquarters of Precept Ministries International in Chattanooga, USA (for further information about training at Chattanooga, click here). We worked hard, made many new friends, and had enormous fun! Now we plan to repeat the exercise in coming years! Interested? - just let us know!
