I (Nigel) had landed at Glasgow airport an hour or so before. I was enjoying meeting Lee, Lisa and Lisa’s mother from South Africa when my phone rang. It was Michael, one of our trustees. ‘Have you seen the email Nigel,’ Michael asked. ‘No,’ I replied. ‘Sandy has had a suspected heart attack.’

As the conversation continued and over the next couple of days more information became available. Sandy was in Glasgow Royal Infirmary undergoing medical examinations. It was clear that he was going to be in for a while, until the doctors could find out what had happened. It also became clear that Sandy was going to need to rest. Not only that but he would need to be relieved from both housing and despatching the Precept book stock which was located in his garage.

The Precept book stock/bible studies are a key element in the ministry of Precept across Scotland. Without them, the ministry could not continue. Many hundreds have been blessed over the years in Scotland through these study materials, enabling them to deepen their faith in Jesus.

So we pray. We pray that you or someone you know may be willing to take on housing and despatching Precept books across Scotland in a voluntary capacity. In finishing, it transpired Sandy did not have a heart attack, but a ‘heart episode’. Sandy is fully recovered, however all trustees think it wise to find someone to take on his duties with the books.
